Set up a vpn on an ios device

Before setting up a VPN you will need to know your server, remote ID, login details/certificate and the type of VPN you want to set up (IKEv2, IPSec or L2TP)

  1. Go to ‘Settings’
  2. Click ‘General
  3. Scroll down and select ‘VPN’ then ‘Add VPN Configuration
  4. Choose ‘Type’ and pick from ‘IKEv2’,IPSec’ or ‘L2TP’
  5. Enter your VPN settings information including a description, server and remote ID
  6. Enter your authentication login details (username/certificate and password)
  7. If you use a proxy, enable by clicking ‘Manual’ or ‘Auto’ whichever one you use
  8. Click ‘Done’
  9. Under the VPN configurations, slide the status bar on
  10. When you have finished using the VPN, slide the status bar off

Set up a vpn on an android device

This guide covers Samsung, Google, Huawei, Xiaomi, Sony etc. Before setting up a VPN you will need to know your login details and the type of VPN you want to set up
  1. Go to ‘Settings’
  2. Click ‘Wireless and Networks’ then select ‘VPN’
  3. On some Android devices there will be two options, you want to select ‘Basic VPN’ then ‘Add VPN’
  4. Name the connection and choose the type of connection (IKEv2, IPSec, L2TP)
  5. Enter the VPN’s server address. Click ‘Save’ and your VPN should be up and running
You can add as many VPN connections as you like. in the ‘Basic VPN’ section you can enable ‘always-on VPN’. This means network traffic will only be allowed through if you are connected to a VPN. If you have a Nexus device with Android 5.1 or a Google Pixel, you can use the ‘WiFi Assistant’ which is basically a built in VPN. IT’s found in ‘Settings’ then ‘Networking’. Here you can enable the WiFi Assistant and enable or disable ‘Manage Saved Networks’ meaning it will automatically connect to networks you have used before.
